I wrote a book!

Hey you,

It's been a long while since I got around sending emails, and my apologies for appearing into your inbox like this without warning!

Quick recap: I'm Lilli, a packaging and branding designer. If you're on this list, you might remember me as a sustainable cannabis packaging designer, but nowadays I'm more of a food & beauty packaging and branding designer, for small to medium CPG companies. Hi! Nice to reconnect, apologies for not being more consistent in my correspondence.

Here's why I wanted to reach out:

Big news 1: I wrote a book!

First of which: I wrote a book. (Yes, this is the same thing that I was originally planning on being a book about cannabis edibles food packaging, and then it was going to become a video course of food packaging. After a couple of pivots, and a lot of stops and starts.... It is now a book.

The book is called Snackaged: The Food Packaging + Labeling Guidebook.

Snackaged Food Packaging (PDF)

Filled with advice written in normal people language, to swoosh your way into a labeling and packaging expert.

I'm still in the "beta testing" phase, so it is currently only available from my website as a PDF.

Coming soon-ish: A physical book for order that you can hold in your hands is still coming, I myself love a real book on paper. And also, a course version for those who aren't readers, is still coming, as a series of webinars first.

More exciting news:

I also have a new website!

I went from about a hundred (seriously) pages, many of which were originally built around 2015, to much fewer, but much more impactful pages. I feel renewed. Excited. I implore you to check it out, and let me know if you spot any broken links, pleaseandthankyouuu

Jollof Sauce project

Michelle and AK are launching a line of foods inspired by Nigerian cuisine, with authentic recipes and clean ingredients. They also had a really cool textile art piece from his aunt that I loved. I took inspiration from that, and explored a similar textured, handmade aspect in design elements. In the end, we went with a cleaner look overall, but the texture version still has my heart personally!

The packaging was a good example for how a smaller batch can still have a professionally designed look and feel, and utilize stock packaging and still look fresh!

Until next time (hopefully sooner than later!),

Hey there! It's been a little while, hasn't it?! Ach, LIFE. Gets in the way of things. This time it was really work that got in the way – I'll always put client work first, so my own stuff, even the ones I'm passionate about, sometimes take a little back burner status. That's what happened to version 1.0 of the edibles packaging course I was working on, with the working title Impeccable Edibles. Now called Unwrapping Edibles. (because I'm a sucker for a tasty pun.) But I'm back, baybeee! And...
